Michael D'Angona has been active in the self-defense world for over twenty-five years, earning a fifth degree black belt in Aikido and a second degree black belt in Japanese Ju-Jitsu. He is also highly versed in weapon use, studying both Arnis and Ken-Jitsu intensely. His other attributes include competitive fencing, archery, and both outdoor and urban survival skills. He has taught hundreds of students over his career in group classes and nationwide seminars, as well as private one-on-one teaching for those wanting skill-specific instruction. On a whim one day, he sent an article to Black Belt magazine and to his surprise they accepted it. From there he continued to submit articles to various publications and at present, he has written hundreds of articles in both print and online magazines. Today, Michael continues to write both fiction and non-fiction, interweaving his decades of survival and self-defense experience throughout his numerous projects.
