One of the latest knives from Kershaw, the Bonneville, falls somewhere in between budget and high-end, closer to budget.
The Kershaw Bonneville
Originating in Portland, Oregon, the Bonneville is 100% American-made, including design, prototype, quality control, and manufacturing. Typically, made in America means a higher price. However, at only $159.99, although not a budget option, it is very reasonable, considering.
Featuring a glass-filled nylon handle, the Bonneville is a lightweight 2.3 ounces, with a thin .42-inch profile. Likewise, it measures 4.4 inches closed. As a result, the knife takes up very little space in the pocket and carries light, so it won’t weigh your pocket down.

Sitting inside the handle is the 3.2-inch 14C28N hollow-ground blade. Although it is listed as a modified clip-point, it presents as more of a modified drop point to me. The blade rides on a KVT ball bearing pivot for a smooth ride to lockup, bringing it to an overall length of 7.6 inches. While open, the flipper acts as a guard to prevent the hand from riding up on the blade.
It is held in lockup via the DuraLock lock. It is not only a very solid lock, but it also keeps your fingers out of the way while closing.

The Bonneville features a deep-carry, reversible pocket clip that allows for right- or left-hand tip-up carry. This provides maximum discretion for carry in environments where knives may cause a stir. Just above the pocket clip is a generous lanyard hole for those who like to attach a lanyard for fast, easy retrieval.
